DeShay Selected As Harvard Business School's OPM 61 Graduation Speaker
Already a recording artist, founder Ron DeShay left his hometown of Bastrop, Texas with little more than his dream to work in Hollywood. The 9/11 attacks interrupted his fledgling acting career and ultimately forced him to refocus on the production side of the business. Through a series of events he found himself at the right place at the right time, on the creative production team that launched American Idol, also known as the show 'that broke television'. During his twelve year stint, he witnessed first-hand the way emerging technology intersected with TV programming to shape a new generation of TV viewers.
After American Idol, Ron created the concept that evolved into The People's Network based on what he observed while producing the show. It was clear that the Millennial and Gen Z demographic craved interactive, experiential content and as the fastest growing viewing population, they will have the strongest voice in defining the future of entertainment. He enrolled at Harvard to test his concept and incubate it into the TPN platform. TPN was born ready to leverage technology and streamline content creation. The process lessens the expense of bringing new stories to viewers. and benefits sponsors by reducing the risk traditionally associated with investing in new shows.
To cultivate and inspire the next generation of story tellers to dream big.
